Anne Carter

Virginia Anne Carter, age 80, died peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County Hospital.
She was born in the Beech Bluff Community on March 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Harris Diffee. Anne was employed with Bell South for thirty-three years and would later go to work for Jackson Energy Authority where she was employed for ten years before retiring.
Anne was known for her baking and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was also exceptionally talented in painting and crafts. Her grandchildren were her passion, and she was very involved with their lives and activities. She was also involved with Camp Bluebird for many years, helping those through recovery.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Rickie Carter of Jackson, TN; her son, Lee Watson and wife Dee of Jackson, TN, daughters, Lisa Payne and husband Terence of Nesbitt, MS and Jennifer Foust and husband Gene of Medina, TN and five grandchildren, Jordan and husband Austin, Taylor and wife Callie, Bailey, Rayna, and John-Carter.
Anne was preceded in death by two children, Tracie Diann Watson and Brian Watson as well as two brothers, Thomas Harris Diffee and Joe Vernon Diffee.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Browns Church, with Rev. Tom Spellings and Steven Callicoat officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Cemetery.
Pallbearers to serve will be Barry Maxwell, Jody Watson, Richard Watson, Jr. John-Carter Johnston, Terence Payne, Taylor Watson, and Keith Carter.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Browns Church prior to the service.
