Larry Edward Price

Larry Edward Price, of Jackson, TN, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Jackson at the age of 79. He was born on February 5, 1947, in Jackson, a community he served faithfully throughout his life and one he called home with pride.

He was graduate of Beech Bluff High School, and as a newlywed Larry was drafted into the United States Army and did a tour in Vietnam from 1966 - 1968. After returning from Vietnam and completing his time in the Army he applied and was accepted with the Jackson Police Dept. Mr. Price devoted thirty-three years to the Jackson Police Department, retiring as Chief of Police. His long career reflected a deep commitment to public service, steady leadership, and care for the people of his hometown. Even after retirement, his service continued in meaningful ways. He served as a police chaplain, offering encouragement and support to others, and he was Head of Security for Fellowship Bible Church. He also served as head of security for the NAIA Tournament during it's time in Jackson. Beyond those formal roles, he gave of himself to younger generations as an FOP Little League coach, a role that surely left lasting memories for many families.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Price. He also leaves two sons, Russell Edward Price and Eric Matthew Price (LaDawn). His family was further blessed through his grandchildren, Michael Price (Leah), Shelby Price, and three great-grandchildren, Liam Price, Ella Kayte Eaton, and Colt Eaton. He is also survived by his brother, J. Randall Price.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy E. Price and sister, Doris A. Smith. As well as a grandchild, Jaelynn Rhodes.

A time with family and friends to honor Larry's life will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church, 141 Pleasant Plains Rd, Jackson, Tennessee 38305. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Priddy, Rick Collins, Barry Michaels, Gerry Campbell, Mark Reeves, Chief Tom Corley, Michael Price and Rick Staples.

Larry Edward Price will be remembered with respect and gratitude for a life marked by duty, faithfulness, and service to others. His presence in Jackson was felt across many years and in many roles, and his memory will remain with all who knew and loved him.
