Andrea Jill Huey Maxwell of Jackson, TN finished her courageous fight against cancer at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN and received heavenly healing on August 18, 2026. She was 46 years old.
She was born January 29, 1980, at Fort Campbell, KY. As a military family, Andrea grew up all over the country. She lived in places including Kentucky, Hawaii, Oregon, Alaska, and Washington where she graduated from Port Angeles High School. Upon her family’s move back to Tennessee, Andrea attended Union University and graduated with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish.
Andrea used her degree and God given talents to touch many lives and make valuable relationships. She did this as a Spanish teacher, a social worker, and a human resource manager in various companies. Of all her successes, she considered her most important work and greatest accomplishment to be a mom to her daughter, Ansley.
Hobbies she loved included music, reading, and nature – especially birds. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephew and her various pets – especially her dog, Scout. Other hobbies included playing pickleball, shopping, and her annual Christmas ornament party. Andrea was an active member of West Jackson Baptist Church and involved in her daughter’s school activities at Trinity Christian Academy.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Ansley Maxwell; mother, Dana Morris; father, Steve Huey; sister, Amanda Harris (Parker); nephew, Porter Harris; nieces, Oakley and Presley Harris; maternal grandparents, Fred and Jean Morris; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral to celebrate her life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will follow the service at Ararat Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Memorial Cancer Center at www.BMHgiving.org by selecting Baptist Cancer Center or call directly to donate over the phone at (901)227-7123.
The family would like to thank all the medical caretakers, doctors, and special friends who assisted Andrea on her cancer journey.
Andrea Jill Huey Maxwell’s legacy of love will be most remembered for her endless optimism (even in the face of adversity), contagious laughter and quick wit, and generosity to loved ones and strangers alike.
