Albert Stephen "Steve" Frye

November 30, 1946 — August 8, 2026

Jackson, TN

Albert Stephen "Steve" Frye, born November 30, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 79 years old.

Steve’s journey began in Bemis, where he developed early on a love for the outdoors and all its wonders. He took great pride in his academic achievements, earning his doctorate in pharmacy—a milestone that would shape a career dedicated to helping others. Steve worked for many years as a hospital pharmacist. After a long and respected career, he retired in 2007, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and professionalism.

Those who knew Steve knew him as a collector, a man who cherished memories and mementos alike. His home reflected his passion for fishing, hunting, duck calls, and all the trappings of a life lived far from the indoors. Steve delighted in anything that brought him closer to nature, whether it was wading in a quiet stream, embarking on a hunting trip, or simply appreciating a peaceful moment outside. These pursuits were not just hobbies; they were expressions of his adventurous spirit and his appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. More recently, he enjoyed pheasant hunting in South Dakota.

Among his proudest accomplishments, Steve always counted his family first and foremost. The strength of these bonds and the memories they forged stand as a testament to the love he shared and the values he held dear. He was a member of First Baptist Church, serving as an active deacon. He was a member of the Jack Benny Life group, Barnabas group, and served on the church Disaster Relief Team.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Catherine Frye; children, Christie Dowdy, Stephanie Frye (Jerimie Wood and children, Houston and Haven), and Suzanne Seneker (Paul); stepchildren, Justin Page (Hannah) and Ethan Page (Whitney); grandchildren, Christian Eanes, Samuel Seneker, and Henry Seneker; step-grandchildren, Will Page, Sam Page, and Greta Page; and siblings Helen Bell (Bob) and Gerald Frye (Pat).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrtle Frye; and siblings, Genova Cole, Almeda Keefe, Kay Allen, and Wallace Frye.

A funeral service to celebrate Steve's life will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will follow the service at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
