Peggy Ann Counce Nace

Peggy Ann Counce Nace departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Jackson, TN at the age of 82. She was born in Weakley County, TN on September 4, 1943, to the late Milton and Ada Belle Roach Counce.

She graduated from South Fulton High School in South Fulton, TN. After, she attended Lambuth University. Peggy was a cheerleader both in high school and college. She was elected President of Sigma Kappa Sorority while attending college. It was at Lambuth where she met her husband, Larry M. Nace. They were married June 9, 1964, and were blessed with three children.

Peggy made homes for her family in many places due to Larry being an Air Force officer and later transferred to the Federal Aviation Administration. She made friends and loved each place they lived. She served as President of chapters of Beta Sigma Phi in Miami, FL and Paducah, KY. For over 25 years, Peggy worked in several United Methodist Church offices as an Administrative Assistant and Business Manager.

She was a member of Northside United Methodist Church. Being so devoted to her church, she was selected to receive a Lifetime Membership Award in the United Methodist Women in Faith. Peggy was a devoted mother and Granny to her three children and six grandchildren.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Nace; beloved son, Larry M. “Lance” Nace, Jr.; brother, James M. Counce, Jr; and sister, Thelma Counce Covington.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James William Nace of Paducah, KY and Kemberly Karal Carr (Tom) of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Richard Paul Green, IV of San Antonio, TX, Joshua Dawson Green of San Antonio, TX, Joseph Braden Nace of Brownsville, TN, Eli Lance Nace of Olive Branch, MS, Brilee Raeann Nace of Brownsville, TN, and Avery Faith Nace of Olive Branch, MS; and several nieces and nephews with whom she maintained a close, loving relationship.
