Larry D. Petty entered his heavenly home on October 31, 2022, at his Jackson, TN residence surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 62.
Born on August 15, 1960, in Jackson, he was the son of Virginia Frances and the late Carl Petty. His career was as a machinist, retiring from Berry Plastics. He and his wife Gina were dedicated members of North Jackson Church of Christ, where they developed many lifelong friends.
Larry never met a stranger and was a friend to many. He loved all kinds of sports, from playing tennis, sharing a friendly game of pool, playing a round of golf at Woodland Hill Golf and Country Club, or gathering with a regular group of guys for a friendly game of Poker.
Family was everything to Larry and he was everything to them. Frequent weekend trips and long beach trips were always with family members.
To cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Gina Gideon Petty of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Layne Petty of Jackson, TN and Kayla Williams and husband Matt of Medina, TN; his mother, Virginia Petty of Jackson, TN; his sister, Diane Manley and husband Ronnie of Jackson, TN; his two grandchildren, who he loved dearly and called him Poppy, Mattie Kay and Rhys Gideon Williams, plus many friends.
SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Minister David Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers to serve will be Randy Hunt, Mike Uselton, Mike Byrum, Bo Deaton, Mark Miller, Jeremy Manley, Ricky House, and Clint Dorris.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at Arrington Funeral Directors.
