Ronald "Ronnie" Joseph Bouye

July 5, 1956 — February 19, 2024

Jackson

Ronald “Ronnie” Joseph Bouye departed this life on February 19, 2024, at the age of 67 at his residence in Jackson, TN with his wife and son, LaRon Que Bouye, by his side.

Born on July 5, 1956, in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of Sir Walter Rolly and Katherine Bouye.  He was preceded in death by his father, Sir Walter Rolly Bouye and brother, Walter Bouye, Jr.

Ronald graduated from Arlington High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College. Throughout his career, Ronnie poured his efforts into the automotive industry as a devoted worker at General Motors and Detroit Diesel Allison Corp for thirty years before retiring.

Ronnie has always had a passion for music and played the drums in a band as the group performed at many weddings around town.   He found solace in pool, bowling, fishing, chess, riding his motorcycle, and being a true homebody.

Ronnie’s mother said he loved people never met a stranger.  He was very outspoken, had a larger than life personality, and had a tendency to “talk, talk, talk”, according to his wife.

He was dedicated and baptized as one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1973.  Ronald attended the Washington Park Congregation in Indianapolis, IN before moving to Jackson, TN.  In Jackson, he was associated with the South Jackson Congregation.

Above all else, Ronnie held his family dear and considered them to be his proudest accomplishments.   The love and bond he shared with his loved ones illuminated his life and will continue to be a source of strength and comfort for those he leaves behind.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, LaNan Evette Pruitt-Bouye; children, Ronnie Bouye, Jr. (Dione), Laron Que Bouye, and Nicole Bouye; mother, Katherine Parson Bouye; siblings, Betty Bouye Johnson (Charles) and Bobbie Jean Turner; granddaughter, Rileigh Bouye; sister-in-law, Natasha L. Johnson; brother-in-law, Michael Irving Pruitt; friend he called brother from another mother, Tracy “Kountry” Holland; nieces and nephews, Kevin Norwood, Lakendra Moore (Kenneth), Eryn Reedus (Aubrey),  Devin Norwood, LaKeisha Tate Hudson, Shalanda Palmer, Archie Turner, Jr., and Tyrece Tate, Sr.; and many family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Ronald “Ronnie” Joseph Bouye may have departed this world, but the echoes of his laughter, the rhythm of his drumming beats, and the warmth of his love will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
