Phyllis Mckinney

Phyllis Annette Gibbons McKinney, beloved wife, mother and Nana, passed way in Jackson, Tennessee March 4, 2021 at the age of 73.
Phyllis was born January 22, 1948 in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of Roy Melvin and Lilly Mae Beasenburg Gibbons. She was a 1966 graduate of North Side High School and worked for the Tennessee Highway Patrol and Dr. Robert Hall before retiring from the State of Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
She was an accomplished artist in traditional oil painting in addition to being a nationally certified Bob Ross instructor. She also enjoyed Tole painting and was a member of the National Society of Tole & Decorative Painters Association for many years. A longtime member of the American Quilters Association, Phyllis created personalized, one-of-a-kind quilts for family and friends and shared her creative skills with the following generations. She loved spending time with her family and will be sorely missed by all.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years, Jerry McKinney of Jackson, Tennessee; daughter Tam (Brandon) McFarland of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren Jeremy McFarland, Brandi Maness and Justin McFarland; and one great granddaughter Braelynn Roach.
Honoring her wishes for a cremation, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
