Albert Russell "Rusty" Larson

Albert Russell “Rusty” Larson passed away on September 23, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. He was born on April 22, 1951, in Amarillo, Texas to the late Jack and Mildred Larson.

Known to many as Rusty, he was the youngest of four children and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Memphis State with his undergraduate degree and later attended law school at Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in Memphis. He went on to practice law for more than forty-five years in Jackson and the surrounding counties, building a long and respected career in the profession.

Rusty was a proud husband, father, and Pop. A devoted family man, he adored his family and counted them as his proudest accomplishment. He and his wife, Carolyn, made their home in Jackson, where they raised their two daughters, Anna and Katy.  Pop was the name he most adored because his sweet grandchildren, Miles and Madeline, called him that. He loved spending time with his family, and that devotion remained at the center of his life.

He also found joy in the simple pleasures that reflected his personality and interests. He loved reading, especially John Grisham novels, and he was a fan of Jimmy Buffett and baseball. He especially enjoyed time at the beach with a good cigar, moments that brought him happiness and peace.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Anna Jordan (Frank) and Kathryn "Katy" Larson (Amy Vines) and grandchildren, Miles Jordan and Madeline Jordan.  Aside from his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn K. Fletcher Larson, his beloved partner of 45 years and siblings, Mark Larson, Miles Larson, and Lyndell Thomas.

A memorial service to celebrate Rusty's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. 

His daughters, Anna and Katy, extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Northbrooke and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness and care of their dad over the past months.

Rusty will be remembered for his love of family, his long dedication to his work, and the many everyday joys that shaped a life well lived.
