Martha Jane Williams

Martha Jane Williams (81 years old) was born to the late John E. & Dovie Fowler Holt on June 5, 1941, in Beech Bluff, TN. She was a graduate of Beech Bluff High School. After graduating, she met Velton Williams and the two married on January 28, 1960. Together, they had three children, Keith E. Williams, Marty J. Williams and Betty Denise Williams Hawley. Martha Jane worked as a Hairdresser, worked at Frankland Furniture, and later retired from East Union Daycare. She was a devoted mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother. She loved gospel music and was a lifelong member of Maple Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Beech Bluff.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband; and her sister and bother-in-law Betty Lou & Earl Dean Thompson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory and legacy her children Keith (Judy) Williams of Piperton, TN, Marty (Beth) Williams of Jackson, TN, and Denise Hawley of Beech Bluff; grandchildren Brooke McNutt (Brad), Sara Hefflin (Travis), Abby Mays (Hunter), Heather Sedberry (Cole), Jake Williams, and Caleb Jones; great-grandchildren, Drew McNutt, Conner McNutt, Reed McNutt, Graham Hefflin, Audrey Mays, Aurora Sedberry, and Amelia Sedberry; and several nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: The family will have a private burial at Maple Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the church from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. There will be brief remarks and music at 2:30 p.m.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bells Nursing Home for the care they provided the last few years.
