Helen Oxley Johnson

Helen Oxley Johnson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in her residence at Brookdale Jackson Oaks, at the age of 92.
Born on May 17,1930 in Jackson TN, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur and Edna Davidson Oxley. Helen’s passion was researching genealogy, tracing her family back to the 1400’s. She traveled overseas which assisted her with her family’s ancestry. She was a proud member of the Mayflower Society, Jamestowne Society, National Society of Colonial Dames of America, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Other than her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband and the father of her three daughters, Robert Gerald Foresythe; husband, Floyd Johnson; daughter, Gail Foresythe Ray, and grandson Colin Wilson.
She is survived by two daughters, Faye Foresythe Davis (Dave) of Bradenton, FL, and Vickie Richardson (Joe) of Jackson, TN; four grandsons, Kris Wilson (Dena) of Hernando, MS, Scott Wilson of Collierville, TN, Wesley Richardson (Molly) of Jackson, TN and Jamie Richardson (Marlie) of Jackson, TN; son-in-law, Bobby Ray, of Hernando, MS; one brother, John Oxley (Carol), of Franklin, TN; many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: The Funeral Service for Helen will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Jackson, with Rev. John White officiating. The family will be receiving friends Monday, January 16, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors. There will be a private family burial in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 1573 N. Highland Ave, Jackson, TN 38305, or online at www.fpcjacksontn.org .
