Obituary

Virginia Elaine Morgan, age 79, was born on August 18, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away on April 25, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. She lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and a deep love for others, and she will be remembered with great affection by all who knew her.

Elaine was a Christian woman whose life reflected the grace and goodness of her Lord. She was loving, kind, and generous, and she carried those qualities into every part of her life. She never knew a stranger, and her warm spirit made people feel welcome wherever she went. Her presence was a blessing, and her smile and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Elaine worked hard to attain her master's degree and devoted much of her life to teaching. She was retired from the Jackson-Madison County School System, where she served faithfully and with great love for children. She loved to teach, and she especially loved introducing children to reading. Elaine loved books and reading, and she found joy in sharing that love with others. Her heart for young people was evident in the way she encouraged them, inspired them, and celebrated their growth. She loved kids dearly, and the impact she made in the classroom reached far beyond the school walls.

Her family often laughed and talked about how they could not take her anywhere without an old student running up to her and shouting, "Mrs. Elaine! Mrs. Elaine!" That joyful greeting was a beautiful testimony to the difference she made in the lives of so many children. Elaine did not simply teach lessons from books. She taught with patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. Her legacy as an educator will continue to live on in the hearts of those she taught.

Elaine also had a special gift for puppetry, and she used that gift to share joy and the message of Christ. She was a big puppeteer and went to many different churches doing puppet shows. She even started Newberry Club and had a Puppet Team when she attended church in Bemis, Tennessee. Through this ministry, she brought laughter, learning, and faith to countless children and families. Her creativity and willingness to serve were a reflection of her generous spirit and her desire to glorify God in all she did.

She was a faithful member of Harvest Church in Humboldt, Tennessee, where she worshiped and fellowshipped with her church family. Her love for the Lord was evident in her daily life, and she lived as a witness to His goodness. Her life was a beautiful example of Christian service, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and kindness.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna Kay Morgan and Kimberly Diane Dumas (John); grandchildren, Jerry Lee Dumas and McKinlee Dumas; and sisters, Betty Stricklin and Jewel Darliene Nies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Morgan; parents, John W. "Buck" Beck and Ruby Hodge Beck; and brother, John William "Bill" Beck, Jr.

Elaine will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration, and her life will continue to speak of a woman who loved well, served faithfully, and lived with a heart full of grace. May she rest in peace in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she served so faithfully throughout her life.
