Tracy Marie Celestine Brooks, born on December 23,1971, was a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend who left her earthly family to be with our Heavenly Father on October 26, 2025. Tracy was a vibrant soul who brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone around her.
Although Tracy earned a G.E.D., she received her education in the Jackson-Madison County School System where she was proud to say she attended West High.
Tracy spent her days working at Walmart as an associate, where her infectious smile and kind demeanor endeared her to both colleagues and customers alike. However, her true passion lay in her family, whom she loved unconditionally. Tracy took immense pride in her accomplishments, with her greatest joy being her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her time to babysitting her grandbabies, nurturing them with more love and care than she had shown her own children.
Tracy had a spirit of adventure that led her to explore the world around her in the most unique ways. She loved going to church, but not just any one church—her adventurous heart compelled her to visit various churches, often finding herself in unexpected places in the West Tennessee. This became a source of laughter and fond memories for her daughters, who appreciated their mother’s zest for life and her willingness to embrace new experiences.
An excellent cook, Tracy delighted her family with every meal she prepared. Her kitchen was a place of warmth where family and friends gathered, reminiscing and sharing stories over lovingly made dishes. Although she wasn’t a “green thumb” as she thought she was and led others to believe, she found joy in nurturing her plants.
Tracy had a heart for people. She would also spend her spare time visiting her elders or people she knew were sick so she could uplift their spirits. Often times, she volunteered her daughters to help out without their prior consent.
Left to cherish her many wonderful memories are her children: Markithius Brooks (Bethany Henry), Markeshia Brooks, Thiakia Stitts (Daniel Mosley), Thiashia Stitts, Eric Brooks, and Quenshia Brooks (Antoine Pierce); son-in-law, James Chapman; grandchildren: A'Niya Brooks, Tiana Chapman, Dallas Mosley, Cameron Brooks, Kennedy Brooks, Kinsleigh Brooks, Eri' Yona Brooks, Emmarie Brooks, and Eric has one on the way. Her siblings: Syliva Transou, Jessica Rambo, Shameka Anderson, Manuel Brooks (Amber); adopted siblings: Nakia Douglass (Printice) and ChiQuitta WIlliams; brothers -in-law LeJeune Franklin and Travis (Laverne) Franklin, Sr; and she also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Marchell Franklin; her parents: Elo Brooks and Levi Springfield; siblings: Kizzie Anderson and Marcus Brooks; and grandmothers: Lille Springfield and Fannie Brooks, the grandmother who raised her.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors.
Tracy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and devotion towards her family will continue to live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. A gentle spirit, Tracy Marie Brooks leaves behind a world forever touched by her kindness, laughter, and unyielding love.
