Tony Nelson Phillips was born on November 15, 1957, in Jackson, Tenn. and spent his childhood in Sardis, Tenn. From the day he was born until Wednesday, May 11, 2011 when he passed away, Tony lived an abundant life straight from his heart. Lovingly called Todd by many, Doogie by some, and Dad by one, Tony journeyed through life with great passion and vibrance. Whether he was treating one of his cardiac patients, rockin? out to sweet music, or spending time with his beloved family and friends, Tony experienced life to its fullest and impacted every person he met. His contagious laugh brought smiles to everyone; his precise handiwork in cardiology saved many lives; and his deep concern and compassion for people enveloped them in his love. Although Tony is no longer with us, pieces of his heart are still with us here because he so freely shared his own heart. He is proudly survived by daughter Hannah Phillips; parents Jerry & Oleta Phillips; siblings Jan Acuff, Marty Phillips, & Chad Phillips; and many other dear family members & friends. Visitation will be at Arrington Funeral Home in Jackson, Tenn., on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 4-7pm. Funeral and memorial service will be Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tenn., at 2pm, and the burial will be at 5:00pm at Spring Hill Cemetery in Sardis, Tenn.
