Jackson, TN

Tony E. Millsaps peacefully entered his eternal home on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the West Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, Tennessee, at the age of 79. Born on October 1, 1946, in Cheoah, North Carolina, Tony’s life was one marked by deep connections to family, enduring friendships, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew him.

Tony’s journey through life was shaped by his childhood growing up in the Tabacco fields of North Carolina, which instilled hard work, a trait that would shape his life and the steadfast devotion to those he loved. He held various positions throughout his career including Hardee's Restaurants, starting at entry level, and finishing as a regional manager. He would later establish Millsaps Auto Sales in 1990 and serve his community until his retirement in 2023.

He was the cherished father of Christal Millsaps Geer and her husband David, as well as Rachel Millsaps Powell. His guidance, wisdom, and steady presence served as an anchor for his family. Tony was a proud grandfather to Turner Millsaps and his wife Jenna, Lanie Millsaps, and Joel Powell. The joy he took in his great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Millsaps, was evident to all who saw their interactions—a testament to the importance he placed on family across generations.

Throughout his later years, Tony found enduring companionship and support with his special long-time companion, Mary Chi. Their bond was evident to all who saw them together, and Mary brought warmth and care to Tony’s days.

He is also survived by his brother, Ricky Millsaps; and his sisters, Brenda Szollose, and husband Frank, as well as Judy Hanks and husband Sam. Each relationship in Tony’s life was handled with deep respect and kindness, and he was always willing to offer a listening ear and helping hand.

Tony carried with him the lasting memories of those who preceded him in death. He was reunited in peace with his beloved son, Matthew Millsaps; brothers Mickey and Scotty Millsaps; and his sister, Sandy Carver. Their memories remained close to his heart, and their legacy continued through Tony’s stories and recollections.

Tony’s life touched many, not only through his profound familial relationships but also through the quiet dignity with which he approached the world around him. His was a life marked by loyalty, humility, and unwavering support for each person who was fortunate enough to share in his journey.
