Tommy E.
Webb
July 4, 1951 – April 21, 2026
Tommy E. Webb, age 74, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Jackson. He was born on July 4, 1951, in McKenzie, Tennessee, and lived a life marked by humor, loyalty, and a spirited love for the people and things that mattered most to him.
He had a gift for making people laugh, and his family often said he thought he was a comedian. Tommy loved telling jokes and making up jokes, even when they were not especially funny, because what mattered most to him was the smile they brought to someone else's face. His sense of humor was one of the many ways he connected with others, and it remained a defining part of who he was throughout his life.
Tommy also loved music and was a hippie at heart. He appreciated the spirit and freedom that music represented, and it remained a meaningful part of his life. He enjoyed reading books as well, finding value in quiet moments and the stories he could discover on the page. These interests reflected a man who was thoughtful, curious, and full of personality.
Above all else, Tommy loved his daughter and grandchildren more than anything. He took great pride in being present for them and made it a point to attend every activity and event he could until he was no longer physically able to do so. His devotion to them was unwavering, and his love for his family was one of the clearest expressions of his character.
Tommy was also a proud Army veteran and a big military man. He held deep respect for his service and carried that pride with him throughout his life. He kept a collection of military memorabilia that reflected his appreciation for that chapter of his life and the values it represented. He also collected guns, another interest that was important to him and part of the life he enjoyed.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Sara Webb; daughter, Beth Elrod (Thomas); brother, James "Buddy" Wayne Webb (Martha); sister, Ann Wilkes (Burton Ronnie); and grandchildren, Emma Kate Elrod, Andrew "Ace" Elrod, Caroline Elrod, Dallas Elrod, and Jaxon Elrod.
A funeral service to celebrate Tommy's life will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be 1:30 p.m. at the West TN State Veteran's Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads.
Tommy E. Webb will be remembered as a man who was funny, friendly, and spirited, with a heart that was especially full when it came to his family. His jokes, his laughter, his love of music and books, and his devotion to his grandchildren will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was one of warmth, personality, and enduring love, and he will be deeply missed.
