Teddy Jack Bryant

Teddy Jack Bryant was born on August 21, 1949, in Idlewild, TN to the late Martha Kate Dunagan and Jack Bryant. He passed away on March 13, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind family and a community that will remember him for his integrity, kindness, and the memorable stories he shared. He journeyed through life with a gentle strength that left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Teddy graduated from Peabody High School. He furthered his education at the Tennessee Tech Center, where he laid the foundation for a meaningful and impactful career. With passion for teaching, he spent many years as an instructor at the Tennessee Technical where he loved to inspire students.

A proud Sergeant in the Tennessee National Guard, Teddy exemplified the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He spent twenty years with the guard before retiring in August of 2009.

Teddy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trenton, TN. He found joy in uplifting those around him, always with his generous spirit. He loved spending time with family and always enjoyed working on various tasks throughout the community with his brother, John. Teddy was an avid griller and loved watching TN football, spending time outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by his two sons, TJ Bryant (Julie) of Vonore, TN and Bryant of Fulton, MS; step-daughter, Amanda Newman (Richard) of Jackson, TN; ten grandchildren; and his brother, John Dunagan of Trenton, TN.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda Bryant; and two brothers, Tommy Bryant of Martin, TN and Tim Donagan of Dyersburg, TN.

He will be dearly missed and his impact will always be present. Rest in peace, you were a shining light in our world and your spirit will continue to inspire.

A private memorial for the family will be held at a later date.

The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the Gibson County Animal Shelter, 1235 Manufacturers Row, Trenton, TN 38382.
