Suzanne M. Barnes, age 75, died at her residence on June 6, 2021. She was born in Davidson County, the daughter of Harold Sidney and Ludie Newbill Mitchell. She was a retired educator teaching in both Memphis and Jackson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jackson. She is survived by her husband Dr. James Barnes of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Sarah Barnes Fratesi and her husband Joseph and their children Nate, Caleb and Leah of Starkville, MS; a son, Sidney W. Barnes and his wife Laura and their daughter, Elizabeth of Jackson, TN and a half-sister, Linda Cole and her husband John of Hixson, TN. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 14, 2021, at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Church Street, Jackson, TN 38301.
