Steven Dan Rushing

June 23, 1957 — November 26, 2023

Pinson, Tennessee

Steven Dan Rushing passed away on November 26, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 66.

Steve was born on June 23, 1957, in his hometown of Jackson, TN, the son of Albert Dan Rushing and the late Bettye Jo Nanney Rushing

A beloved husband, father, son, and friend was a retired Technician with Procter and Gamble.
Steve was known for his easy-going nature and profound sense of humor. He had a unique ability to bring joy into every room he entered, effortlessly lifting the spirits of others.

During his career with Procter and Gamble, Steve consistently displayed his dedication and strong work ethic. He tackled every task with determination and precision. His colleagues admired his expertise and respected him as a valuable member of the team.

Outside of work, Steve enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. As an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, he celebrated their victories with unmatched enthusiasm. He cherished watching them and cheering on his favorite team.

Being an outdoors person at heart, Steve reveled in any activity that allowed him to immerse himself in nature. Whether it was a round of golf with friends or embarking on hunting and fishing trips, where he landed many trophy bucks and participated in numerous fishing tournaments, he had many unforgettable memories that were created during these adventures.  He was also a champion bowler earning numerous awards and championship rings

One of Steve's remarkable talents lay within the realm of barbequing on the grill. Whenever family or friends gathered for cookouts or special occasions, Steve would take charge behind the grill with confidence. His mouth-watering creations earned him a well-deserved reputation as the go-to grill expert.

Steve's kind and compassionate nature extended to his loved ones as well. He shared an unbreakable bond with Kathy Harber, his devoted wife who stood by his side through thick and thin.

The light of Steve's life was his beloved daughter, Taylor Marie Rushing. He cherished every moment spent with her and took pride in watching her grow into the remarkable person she became. His love and guidance shaped Taylor's life, instilling in her the same values he held dear.

Steve also leaves behind his father, Dan Rushing, who shared many wonderful memories with him. Their bond surpassed that of father and son - they were loyal friends who supported one another through every triumph and challenge.

Along with his mother, Steve was preceded in death by a daughter Shelby Rushing in March 2022.
