Steven William Harris

February 24, 1970 — April 27, 2025

Knoxville, TN

Steven William Harris, born on February 24, 1970, in Jackson, TN, departed this life far too soon on April 27, 2025, at the age of 55, following a tragic motorcycle accident. A beacon of joy and laughter, Steven was not just a name but a vibrant personality that truly brightened those fortunate enough to know him.

He graduated from the University of TN with a bachelor's degree in psychology, embodying a thirst for understanding and a passion for connection that served him well throughout his life. As the owner and operator of the “Sweet Leaf” retail stores in East Tennessee, he transformed his entrepreneurial ambitions into a local success that many came to appreciate.

Steven was, above all, a man who lived life to the fullest. He thrived in his experiences and cherished every moment, whether traversing the fairways on a golf course, casting a line into the tranquil waters, or pursuing the thrill of a hunt. A devoted fan of UT Volunteers, his spirited enthusiasm for the Vols resonated with fellow fans and family alike.

The laughter he invited into every room was infectious; his joyous nature drew people near. Memories of Steven evoke a warmth that radiated from his very being. His presence was always a delightful companion in life’s journey, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family. He may not have had children of his own, but his heart was brimming with love for his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, and the like, whom he adored dearly. Steven's love of travel allowed him to explore new horizons, but it was the love of family that anchored him. He cherished his time with loved ones, embracing life’s moments with an exuberance matched by few.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Joyce Bray (Frankie); siblings, James Harris (Heather), Karen Jones, and Kelly Helton (Russell); step-siblings, Candy Beshieres (Todd) and Mark Bray; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse James Harris; and his grandparents, Margie Hassell, William Dutch Maness, H.C. Harris, and Nina Harris.

His final farewell will take place 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The first visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, and the second will be held 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday before the service. The burial will follow the funeral service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Three Way, TN.

Pallbearers to serve are Maison Gray, Jesse Harris, Reggie Pierce, Kenneth Weatherford, Bailey Whited, and Bryson Williams. Honorary Pallbearers include Alan Bright, Mike Hamilton, Dena Hysmith, Tim Jones, and Jesse McAllister.
