Shirley Temple Latham, age 90, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on May 3, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born on July 31, 1935, in Medon, Tennessee, and lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and a genuine love for the people around her.
Shirley will be remembered most for the love she shared so freely with others. She was a loving, funny, and friendly woman who had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. Her laughter was contagious, and her smile could brighten even the hardest day. Those who knew her will always remember how she could bring joy into a room simply by being herself. She had a gift for making people laugh, and she used that gift often, creating memories that her family and friends will cherish forever.
One of Shirley's greatest joys was cooking. She loved to prepare meals, and she always had a table fit for any holiday or for anyone who came to visit. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and generosity, where food was made with care and shared with love. The meals she prepared were more than just food. They were expressions of her hospitality and her desire to make others feel at home. Many will fondly remember the warmth of her home and the delicious dishes she served with pride.
Shirley also loved country music, and it was a source of enjoyment throughout her life. The songs she loved reflected the simple pleasures and heartfelt emotions that she valued so deeply. Whether she was listening quietly or sharing a favorite tune with others, her appreciation for country music was another part of the personality that made her so special.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pat Patrick; grandchildren, Amanda Patrick, Matthew Priya, Jeremy Latham, and Tommy Latham; great-grandchildren, Virat Priya and Davind Priya; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Latham; children, Tim Latham, David Taylor Latham, and Lisa Latham; parents, Charlie and Birtie Brown; and siblings, Ray Waller, Wayne Brown, and Dorothy Hamilton.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (Mifflin Road).
The family would like to thank all the workers and the Cades Center and to all of the friends and family that supported her throughout the years.
Shirley Temple Latham leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion to family, faith, and friendship. Though she will be deeply missed, the memory of her smile, her laughter, and her caring heart will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
