Obituary

Shirley Richerson Anthony, age 56, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Shirley was born in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Raymond Richerson, Sr. and Janice Barham Richerson. Shirley was a register nurse and was a thirty-year employee of West Tennessee Healthcare currently in the Case Management Department as a Social Services Manager. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church, where she taught the Shirley Anthony Sunday school class and worked with the youth department for many years. She was a dedicated donor to Lifeline Blood Services of Jackson. Shirley was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to many that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Matthew Anthony and wife Bethany of Huron, TN; her daughter, Emily Synder and husband Chase of Nicholasville, KY; a brother, Raymond "Wash" Richerson, Jr. and wife Shelia of Jackson, TN; her sisters, Linda Culbreath and husband Lawrence of Marianna, FL and Jewell Burke and husband John of Nolensville, TN; her brother in law, Richard Owens of Jackson, TN; grandson, Wyatt Anthony and soon to be granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jo Owens. SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. John Burke, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
