Shirley Ann Courtney Young went to heaven on Monday, April 20, 2026. She was born in Pensacola Florida on August 9,1943. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Bill and Lucille Courtney, her brothers, Junior and Huey Courtney, and her sister, Marilyn White. She is survived by her sisters, Tonya Peek and Janie Joseph, her daughter, Darlene Carpenter, son-n-law, Mike Carpenter, grandsons, Canaan and Jordaan (Abby) Carpenter, granddog, Tilly, great-granddog, Bonnie, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She lived in the Nashville area for 61 years and worked in the field of banking and bookkeeping. She enjoyed her family and extended family, sharing her life with friends, loving her grandkids and helping to take care of family pets.

She most recently lived in Jackson, TN at Jackson Meadows. She loved being part of this amazing community, that loved and cared for her.
