Roy Lee Towater, 68, died Monday afternoon, July 22, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 12, 1945 in Carroll County, TN the son of the late Jesse Lee Towater and Irene Humphrey Towater. Roy was retired and a member of Oakfield Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Towater of Jackson, TN, three sons, Todd Towater (Kim), Lee Towater (Michelle), both of Jackson, TN, Neal Towater (Trish) of Alamo, TN, six grandchildren, Ryan Towater, Shelby Towater, Brooke Towater, Hayden Towater, Eli Towater, Emili Towater, one sister Marge Tucker of Huntingdon, TN, sister-in-law, Lula Towater, of Jackson, TN, a special niece, Diane Towater Kelley of Jackson, TN. Roy was preceded in death by his brother J. W. Towater. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be directed to Oakfield Baptist Church, 3527 Old Medina Rd, Jackson, TN 38305, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 11 Murray Guard Dr,2nd Floor, Jackson, TN 38305.
