Jackson, TN

Roselyn Marie Dyer, a devoted and compassionate soul, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her residence at Brookdale Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on August 23, 1936, in Jackson, TN, Roselyn lived a life marked by unwavering love, dedication, and service to those around her. She was 89 years old.

After completing high school, Roselyn chose a path of care and healing, dedicating her career to the well-being of her patients as a Licensed Practical Nurse with DCI Dialysis Clinics. Her professional life mirrored her personal character — loving, passionate, and giving. Whether attending to patients or supporting family and friends, she was a constant source of comfort and strength.

Roselyn’s commitment extended beyond her career. She was a member of Browns Methodist Church and actively participated in the United Methodist Women, contributing to her faith community with the same enthusiasm and grace she exhibited in all aspects of life. Her generous spirit and genuine concern for others left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Those who spent time with Roselyn remember her fondness for reading, engaging in meaningful conversations, and her daily ritual of tackling crossword puzzles. Before the passing of her beloved husband Leon, they enjoyed camping and embarking on organized archaeological digs exploring Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas in search of Indian relics, creating treasured memories together.

Roselyn was born Roselyn Marie Ross and was preceded in death by her husband Leon Thomas Dyer, her son Charles Dyer and infant daughter Patricia Kay Dyer, her sister Anita Fesmire, her brother Glen Ross, loyal friend Bob Henderson and her parents, James Walva and Sarah Alva Wood Ross.

She is survived by her children, Jim Dyer and his wife Rhonda of Jackson, Tennessee, and Sandra Presson and her husband Ted of Tupelo, Mississippi. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joe Ross of Chattanooga and Ronald Ross and his wife Janice. Roselyn’s family circle includes her and beloved grandchildren: Russell Dyer, Katherine Dyer Webb and her husband Doug, Matthew Presson and his wife Jill, Sarah Presson and her husband Nick, Bonnie Kinard and her husband Cody, William Dyer and his fiancé Jessica Rizzuto, daughter-in-law Sassene Dyer and her son Jay Boyd. Her legacy continues through six great-grandchildren who will carry forward her spirit and warmth.

SERVICES: A time with family and friends will be held in her honor on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Stephen Callicoat officiating.

Roselyn Marie Dyer’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication, and love. She will be deeply missed, but her memory and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her will continue to inspire and comfort her family, friends, and community.
