Obituary

Ronald Earl Sander, 71, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Ronald was born in Baltimore, MD on July 20, 1943, the son of the late Homer Sander and Gladys Tilsch Sander. He was married to his first wife, Julia Price Sander who preceded him in 1994. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After more than 40 years in the steel industry as a Mechanical Engineer, Ronald retired in 2010 from Gerdeau Ameristeel in Jackson. He was a man that was full of energy who was always looking for things to do. He was an avid fan of the University of Alabama. Ronald loved Lighthouses and traveling on cruises with his wife. During his retirement years he became quite the cook in the kitchen and on the grill. He is survived by his wife, Judy Sander of Three-Way, TN; a son, Scott Sander and wife Misty of Portland, OR; step-son, Lee Harrell III and wife Deborah of Jackson, TN; a step-daughter, Kim Holmes and husband Robbie of Trenton, TN; a brother, Roger Sander of Delaware and three grandchildren, Sydney Sander, Baylea Holmes and Billy Holmes. SERVICE: A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Jerry Drace officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
