Roberta Sue
Adams
July 6, 1942 – March 29, 2026
Roberta Sue Adams, born on July 6, 1942, in Paragould, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Frank and Vestle Clark Scorfina, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Milan, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and steady kindness that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Roberta lived a life centered on family, and she was most proud of the people she loved and supported throughout the years. She is survived by her daughter, Jerri Sue Maxwell, and her husband, Chris; her daughter, Darla Robbins, and her husband, Mark; and her son, Gregg Adams, and his wife, Tracy. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Katlyn, Olivia, and Gabriella Maxwell, Kylie and Drake Adams and Tori Workman and Caleb Robbins, who brought her great joy and pride. Roberta was the last of nine children and was preceded in death by her brothers, Marion Moss, George Moss and his wife, Shirley, Jim Moss and his wife, Deloris, Bill Scorfina, and Tony Scorfina and his wife, Brenda; as well as her sisters, Kay Straub and her husband, Joe, Elna Phillips and her husband, Jimmy, and Jeanne Baker. Her family was a source of strength throughout her life, and she cherished the close bonds she shared with them.
A graduate of Paragould High School, Roberta carried with her the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who gave generously of her time and attention, always ready to help, encourage, and uplift others. She had a warm presence and a caring spirit that made people feel welcome and valued. Her life was a reflection of the simple but powerful ways love can be shown through daily acts of devotion and service.
Roberta's biggest passion was cheering on her children and grandchildren. She found great happiness in being present for the milestones, accomplishments, and everyday moments that mattered most to her family. When her children were younger, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's in their classes, where she gave her time and support with a cheerful heart. She also loved being a JCM band mom during their high school years, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and pride. Her encouragement and involvement meant a great deal to her children and to many others who saw her dedication firsthand.
She also took great pleasure in caring for her home and making it a reflection of her personality and love for life. Roberta enjoyed working in her yard, shopping for any and all occasions, and decorating her home for every holiday. She found joy in creating beauty around her and in celebrating the seasons and special moments that brought family and friends together. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with the thoughtful touches that made it uniquely hers.
Roberta, in her younger years, also devoted her time to volunteering at the Carl Perkins Center, continuing her lifelong habit of helping others in meaningful ways. Her willingness to serve and her compassionate nature were among her most admirable qualities. She gave of herself freely and sincerely, and her kindness left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
