Robert Gordon, 80, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, peacefully passed away at the Bells Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched the lives of many with his patient, kind, and gentle spirit. Born on October 27, 1943, in Brownsville, TN, Robert led a fulfilling life that was marked by his dedication to his family and his successful career at Quaker Oats. He found joy in the simple things, particularly in being an avid fisherman and spending time immersed in nature. One of his favorite pastimes was birdwatching with binoculars, where he could appreciate the beauty of wildlife around him. Robert's proudest accomplishments were his daughter Melissa and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. His memory will be forever treasured by Glenda Palmer Gordon, his wife of 62 years, daughter, Melissa Williams (Clay) of Jackson, TN; brother, Albert Gordon (Carole) of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Haley Heidelberg (Bruce) ; Shelley Carr (Derek), Johnny Williams (Faith),great-grandchildren Landry Carr, Bryson Joe Carr, Millie Williams and Tripp Williams. In this time of grief, Robert is reunited with his parents William A. Gordon and Edith Mulligan Gordon in eternal peace. He is also preceded in death by his brothers W.T. Gordon, James Gordon, and Glynn Gordon. A visitation to honor Robert's life will be held at the North Jackson Church of Christ in Jackson on Thursday, March 14th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Robert Gordon will be remembered for his love for his family, his passion for nature, and the warmth he exuded to all those around him. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
