Ricky Dale Lewis

Ricky Dale Lewis, age 61, departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2024.  He was born on December 20, 1962, in Memphis, TN to Bobby and Frances Lewis.  Let us all continue to honor his memory by carrying the values of kindness, friendship, and unconditional love that he embodied. 
 
Born on a winter day, Ricky brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. His vibrant personality shone through in every interaction - always greeting others with a contagious enthusiasm that made them feel like they were his best friend. Ricky's memorable catchphrases of "Hi, my name is Ricky! You're my best friend!" or "I love you!" will forever echo in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him.  Described as someone who never met a stranger, Ricky had a natural gift for connecting with people. Whether he was out in public shaking hands or engaging in heartfelt moments, his genuine warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
 
In his younger years, Ricky had a passion for playing basketball, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for the game. Additionally, his deep bond with his siblings was evident to all who knew him - he valued their company above all else and cherished the time spent together.
 
Left to cherish his memory is his loving mother, Frances Lewis; devoted sisters, Teresa Michael and Debbie Kerr (Bill); and several nieces and nephews. 
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Lewis and his brother, Larry Lewis.  
 
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Englewood Baptist Church with Bro. Bradley Osborne officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
 
As we reflect on Ricky's life, let us remember the joy, light, and love he brought into the world. While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable individual, we can find solace in the memories we shared and the impact he had on each of us.
