Dick Jones

April 11, 1946 — February 23, 2024

Jackson, TN

Dick Jones, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Jackson, TN. Born in Sharon, PA, on April 11th, 1946, Dick led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dick earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Youngstown State University in 1969.  He retired as a Purchasing Manager in April 2011 after leaving an indelible mark on the industry.  His draft drawings of transformers continue to be used today.

Dick’s family meant everything to him.  He was a kind, strong and loving man who always put his family first.  He and his wife of 53 years, Jeri, would often travel to Tunica for entertainment. Their love for each other was amazing.  They always said, “It’s me and you, babe.”

Special memories include watching wrestling with his son Stephen along with having Wednesday phone calls and being a supportive, loving second father to his daughter-in-law Betsy.   Dick was an amazing father who taught his son how to be an amazing man.

Dick was a strength for his daughter Christine, and their “Tuesday talks” will be sorely missed. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Callan and Lilly –teaching them to ride a bike, play catch, teasing and laughing.  His laugh was perfect.

A proud veteran who served in the US Army during the Vietnam War with honors as Sergeant First Class-Specialist in the Medical Corpsman division, Dick received accolades including the Army Marksman Rifle and National Defense Service Medal.

Dick was an honorary “Heart Warmer” delivering quilts to those in need in the Jackson area.

Dick passed away on February 23rd, surrounded by his family. Per Dick’s wishes, a private family service was held at Arrington Funeral Home on February 25th.   No further memorial will be held.

Dick is survived by his wife Jeri Jones; children Stephen Richard Jones; Betsy Marie Jones, and Christine Marie Jones; grandchildren Callan Goff and Lilly Goff; his sister Faye Harshaw of Conneaut Lake, PA as well as his close friend Kelly Revelle.

While we mourn the loss of Dick from our lives, his spirit will remain forever in our hearts.

In Lieu of flower, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
