Ray Hale, age 97, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born on January 10, 1928, in Lexington, TN, the son of the late Jim Henry and Cora Hale.
A dedicated professional, Ray spent his career in the Milk and Dairy products Industry, ultimately retiring as a supervisor with Turner Dairy of Jackson. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were well recognized by his colleagues and friends.
Educated in the Beech Bluff Schools, Ray showcased his athletic abilities by playing basketball. He carried this spirit of camaraderie into all aspects of his life, where he was often described as the life of any gathering, known for his great personality that drew people to him.
Ray was an active member of New Covenant Church of Medina, where he served as a board member and trustee. He once took on the important role of a church treasurer and drove the church van for Faith Tabernacle Church. His faith was central to his life, and he cherished his church family, frequently volunteering to assist members in times of need. His commitment to his community and his willingness to lend a helping hand did not go unnoticed.
Outside of his professional and church commitments, Ray had a range of interests that brought him joy. He loved traveling to the mountains, indulging in meals at Cracker Barrel, and engaging in lively games of checkers with family members. He found pleasure also going to the Catfish Cabin and sitting in the front porch swing, enjoying the simple things in life. Each morning, he would meet his best friend, Bill Jordan, at McDonald’s for coffee and conversation, sharing quick stories that brightened their days.
In his lifetime, Ray was preceded in death by Jean Hale, his beloved wife, and his parents, Jim H. and Cora Hale. Additionally, he had five brothers and three sisters who welcomed him to eternal rest.
He leaves behind his loving family, including his daughter, Sandra Hodge, son, Ricky Hale, and sister, Gracie Seaton. Ray was also a proud grandfather to Barry Hodge, Greg Hodge (Audrey), Amy Hale, Kelly Eliff (David), and Richard Hale (Stacy), as well as seven great-grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward.
SERVICES: A Visitation to honor Ray's life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors and Crematory, A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with David Eliff and Mike Hale officiating.
The pallbearers serving will be Wesley Eliff, Richard Hale, Tony Dotson, Jerry Seaton, Barry Hodge and Greg Hodge.
Ray Hale's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and infectious joy for life. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
