Randy Thomas

December 28, 1961 — November 27, 2023

Randy Thomas, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 27, 2023, in his hometown of Jackson, TN. He was born to the late James & Mary Katherine Thomas in Jackson, TN on December 28, 1961.  Randy led a fulfilling life filled with hard work, laughter, and love.

Randy dedicated many years of his life to his career as a sheet metal mechanic. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment, he was admired by both colleagues and employers. Randy was not one to sit around idly; he approached every task with enthusiasm and determination.

Beyond his work, Randy possessed a vibrant personality that touched the lives of those around him. He had an incredible sense of humor that never failed to brighten any room he entered. His quick wit and knack for storytelling left everyone in stitches. Randy had a unique ability to find joy in the simplest of moments and always found a way to make others smile.

One aspect of Randy's character that will be remembered fondly is his generosity. He had an unconventional way of showing his affection through gift-giving. Friends and family recall receiving presents from Randy that were intriguing and thought-provoking. His ability to choose interesting and unexpected gifts demonstrated his deep understanding of the people he cared about.

When not working or making people laugh, Randy found solace in nature's embrace. The outdoors was his sanctuary where he indulged in activities such as hunting and fishing. His love for nature was infectious; he would often share his favorite hunting spots or regale others with tales from fishing expeditions. In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, Randy had a peculiar fondness for corny sci-fi movies. He reveled in their quirky storylines and special effects, finding joy even in the most bizarre plot twists.

Family meant everything to Randy, particularly his grandchildren who held a special place in his heart. He took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. The bonds he formed with his loved ones were strong and unbreakable, leaving a lasting impact that will be carried on for generations.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Elam;  son, Matthew Thomas (Sabrina);  step-children, Joseph Gaydon, Traci Patterson (John), and Seneca Reece (Jacob);  brothers, Robert Thomas (Pamela) and Richard Lee Thomas, Sr. (Leita);  grandchildren, Gryphon Thomas, Asher Thomas, Raven Thomas, Sylas Thomas, Autumn Gaydon, Eli Gaydon (Alexis), Cadience Reece, and Gatlin Reece;  and great-grandson, Levi Gaydon.
