Paxton McCartney Newsom, who was born on August 20, 1974, in Jackson, Tennessee, and passed away on April 29, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, lived a life marked by quiet dedication, steady character, and a deep appreciation for the simple comforts of home.
Paxton graduated from North Side High School in 1992, where he distinguished himself academically and even lettered in Latin, a reflection of both his discipline and his uncommon interests.
Paxton built his working life with the same steady commitment that guided the rest of his days. He had recently been promoted to general manager of Arby’s in Jackson, Tennessee, a position that recognized his reliability and leadership. He was not one to seek attention or a life of constant motion. He worked and went home, and that simple rhythm suited him well. He found contentment in routine, responsibility, and the familiar places that gave him peace.
Home was where Paxton was most himself. He loved to be at home, and he loved reading books. If given the choice between staying in and going out for the evening, he would choose to stay home. That preference was not a limitation, but rather a reflection of the life he valued. He appreciated quiet, comfort, and the chance to enjoy his own company and interests. His dream was to move to Montana and not have neighbors for miles, a wish that spoke plainly to his love of solitude, open space, and a life free from unnecessary noise.
Paxton also pursued accomplishments that reflected discipline, perseverance, and honor. He was a black belt in Taekwondo, a testament to his focus and determination. He was a Master Mason member of Jackson Lodge #45 F.&A.M., and he was an Eagle Scout, achievements that spoke to his character and the standards he set for himself. These honors were not merely titles to him, but part of a life lived with purpose and integrity.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Kenny Newsom; and brother, Patrick Newsom. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Newsom; and his step-mother, Kathryn Newsom.
Paxton McCartney Newsom will be remembered with affection and respect by all who knew him. His memory will remain a lasting part of the Jackson community.
