Patsy D. Bishop, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Maplewood Healthcare and Rehab in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on November 22, 1939, in Etowah, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Thomas and Flora Ruth Kenser Young. Patsy was a devoted homemaker whose passion for family resonated throughout her life.
The love and care she provided for her family were unparalleled. Patsy cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, nurturing her children, Tim Bishop (Kim), Danny Bishop, Sharon Presson (Blair), Brenda Bishop, and her deceased daughter Linda Baker with unwavering dedication. Her legacy continues through her thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, whom she adored and took immense joy in caring for them.
In addition to her loving family life, Patsy had a vibrant personality that shone through her many hobbies and interests. She was an enthusiastic cook and baker, known for her beautiful wedding cake decorations. Her musical talents as a pianist and organist were well-known at the Lighthouse Church of Jackson, TN, where she was an active member. Patsy's warmth extended beyond her family, as she had a special fondness for children, regularly offering her time to babysit little ones in the community.
Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby D. Bishop, and her beloved daughter, Linda Baker. She also joins her siblings Carroll Young, Raymond Young, Eugene Young, Wilma Young, Shirley Mitchell, and Lois (Shugie) Young, as well as her parents, Thomas and Flora Ruth Kenser Young, in eternal rest.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Craig Mitchell and Seth Harden officiating. Entombment will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Landon Smith, Asher Smith, Logan Miller, Drew Presson, Roger Baker and Brent Bishop
