Patricia K. Hopper, a cherished sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Jackson, TN.
She was born on July 13, 1942, in Rutherford, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Lois Smith Hopper.
Patricia grew up in the close-knit town of Rutherford and was a proud graduate of Rutherford High School. Her formative years were filled with the joys of small-town life and the strong bonds of family.
After spending some time in California, Patricia returned to her roots in Tennessee, where she made Jackson her home. Her professional journey in insurance began at Jackson Insurance Agency, where she quickly became known for her meticulous work and commitment to her clients. Patricia's passion for her field led her to be actively involved in the National Association of Insurance Women and the Professional Insurance Agents of Tennessee. Her career later took her to Jim Wilson Insurance Agency and Thompson and Smith Insurance Agency, where her expertise and integrity were greatly valued.
After retirement, she dedicated countless hours to volunteering at the local library, lending her time and energy to the hospital, and through the JMCSS Team Read program. Her church, Grace United Methodist Church, benefited from her unwavering faith and service, particularly through her work with the Circle of Grace, where she found great joy and cultivated many lasting friendships.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her sisters, Sue Pope and Carolyn Workman, her nieces, Kim Holt (Jeff) and Demetra Rust (Chuck), and her nephew, Barry Workman (Melissa). Her great Niece Amanda Reed (John) and great Nephews Josh Holt (Emily), Brice Leach, and Jacob Workman. Also survived by her great-great nieces Harper Holt, Ellie Jo Holt, Tatum Holt, Ivy Reed, and her great-great nephew, Jaxon Reed.
SERVICES: A time with family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 142 McClellan Dr., Jackson, TN 38305, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Beth Eberle officiating.
