Pat Carter

Patricia Lynn Carter, known as Pat, beloved wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 69. Born on Friday, September 30, 1955, in Sausalito, California, Pat's vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of many throughout her journey.

For over thirty years, Pat dedicated herself to her career across various companies including Douglas & Lomason, Allstate Insurance, and Crawford & Company. She retired as an Executive Assistant at West Tennessee Healthcare, working with several Vice-Presidents over the years. Her work reflected her generous nature; she approached every task with a commitment to excellence and a determination to support those around her.

Outside of her professional life, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures. She had a passion for cultivating her flower garden, adding color inside her home. Flea market excursions and eBay sales were among her favorite pastimes, where she enjoyed the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. Additionally, her love for Temptation Pottery, known for its colorful, hand painted designs enhanced her home.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Diane Woods Branham, and a son, Johnathon Carter.

Her family was the center of her world; she was the loving wife of Darrell Carter of Jackson, TN, and together they shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Pat was a proud mother to Brian Darrell Carter of Jackson, TN, sister to Dayne and Joe Branham, and an affectionate grandmother to Taia and Layla Carter, who brought her immeasurable joy. Also survived by daughter Carrie Carter Magers.

Honoring her wishes there will be no public services.

The family asks that memorials be directed to the Jackson Animal Care Center, 23 Pinnacle Drive, Jackson, TN 38301.

As we remember Pat, we celebrate her kind heart, her generosity of spirit, and the happiness she spread to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who are forever grateful for the time shared, and the love given.
