Obituary

Norma Martindale Leggett was born on February 2, 1943, in Jackson, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John and Mary Alice Stanfill Durham. She entered her heavenly home on December 29, 2025, after a brief illness. Norma's life was a testament to her enduring love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her zest for life that touched all who knew her.

A lifelong resident of Jackson, Norma, was the wife of Don B. Leggett, and together they built a blended family full of joy and laughter. She was the proud mother of Rick Martindale and his wife Whitney, Curt Martindale and his wife Sandy, Leigh Ann Stewart, and Jennifer Young. Norma's brothers, Joe, Durelle, and Dwight Durham, along with her sister, Mavis Crotts, also held special places in her heart. Her legacy extended to her adored grandchildren, twins Sailor Martindale and Willow Brown (Tyler), Jericho Martindale, Lindsay Hart (Kevin), Aaron Pendergrass (Yasmin), Chelsea, Rachel, and Caroline Stewart, and her great-grandchildren, Jake and Ali Hart and Philip Pendergrass, who will forever cherish their memories with her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Gene Martindale on April 15, 2014.

Norma's passion for photography was evident in her career as the manager of Wolf Camera and Video, where she captured countless moments and milestones for her community and remembered many of her customers by their name. Her dedication to her faith was reflected in her over fifty years of membership at Englewood Baptist Church, where she was a beloved member of the Harvesters Sunday school class. Southern Gospel music resonated with Norma, providing a soundtrack to her life's journey and a source of comfort and joy.

Upon retiring, Norma's desire to serve others led her to volunteer at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where her compassionate presence was a blessing to many. An avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, she followed the team religiously, particularly admiring Yadier Molina until his retirement. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Norma's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. She found joy in playing Bunko with her grandchildren and friends, sharing laughter, and creating lifelong memories. Traveling with her family was another source of happiness, exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of the world together.

To describe Norma as loving, passionate, and faith-filled barely scratches the surface of the impact she had on her family and community. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she has left behind. Norma Martindale Leggett's life was a beautiful portrait of love in action, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
