Ned W. Robbins, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Maplewood Healthcare and Rehab in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on April 24, 1946, in Mooresville, North Carolina, Ned lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and a deep dedication to his family.
Ned enjoyed a successful career as an engineer, retiring from Florida Steel/Gerdau, where his expertise and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues. He pursued higher education with determination, earning his bachelor's degree in engineering, a testament to his love for learning and his ambition.
Throughout his life, Ned was known for his vibrant personality and his many interests. A proud 32-degree Mason, he embraced the values of brotherhood and charity. His passion for sports, particularly as an avid Yankees fan, brought joy not just to him, but to those around him. He was also a dedicated member of the National Rifle Association, reflecting a commitment to his beliefs.
Ned held family as his proudest accomplishment. He is survived by his son, Ned Robbins, Jr.; his son, Steve Robbins; his daughter, Michele Robbins; his brother, Barry Robbins; as well as his cherished grandchildren: Emily Quick, Elizabeth, Scott, and McKenzie Robbins; and five great-grandchildren. The legacy of love he cultivated will continue to be felt through the lives he touched.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents, William Greenberry and Cammie Garris Robbins, who laid the foundation for his values and strength.
SERVICES: Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.
