Opal C. Stewart, 85, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her daughters residence in Holladay, TN. Opal was born in Haywood County on October 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Birdie Iona Williamson Marbury. She was married to Joseph Parker Stewart, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a member of Sugar Tree Baptist Chapel in Holladay, TN. She enjoyed square dancing, crocheting and flowers, as well as traveling with her husband. She operated a beauty shop in her home for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Bickerstaff (Jimmy) of Holladay, TN; her son, Joseph Stewart, Jr. (Diane) of Winterhaven, CA; two sisters, Betty Roaten (Paul) of Henderson, TN and Birdie Blackwell of Brownsville, TN; three grandchildren, Blane Diggs, Mona Goodman and Courtney Stewart; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. SERVICE: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Paul Roaten officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
