Jerrydean “Jerry” McLamb Cooper of Jackson, TN, went to be with her Savior and Lord on June 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Those who knew her best will miss her sharp wit and remember her dedication to her family, whom she loved very much. Jerry met the love of her life, Jim Cooper, while a student at Auburn University, and they were married on October 17th, 1964. He passed away in 2005 after 40 years of marriage that produced 2 wonderful children.
She is survived by her daughter, Leah Mikesell (husband, Charley) of Bossier City, LA, and her son Russ Cooper (wife, Meredith) of Jackson, TN, along with four grandchildren: Ryan Knowles (wife, Chesney) of Gibson, TN, Elizabeth Henson (husband, J.T.) of Memphis, TN, Hunter Knowles (wife, Savannah) of Little Rock, AR, and David Cooper (wife, Callie) of Jackson, TN. She really enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren: Leighton, Stella, Heath, and Celise Knowles.
Jerry retired from Gannette Publishing after working for over 30 years at The Times in Shreveport, LA. Her dedication to her family was only surpassed by her love for the Lord, and she had been a member of West Jackson Baptist Church since moving to Jackson in 2009.
