Oscar Robertson, Jr., 86, died on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Northbrooke Healthcare of Jackson. A native of Tyronza, AR, he was born on October 29, 1927, the son of the late Oscar and Lillian Walls Robertson, Sr. He was married to Betty Joyce Robertson who preceded him in death in January 2013. He served his county in the United States Army Signal Corp from 1945 through 1947. He was a retired driver for Averitt Express. Oscar was very patriotic and loved his country. He had a wonderful wit about him and was always optimistic in his environment. He cared for his neighbors and his co-workers. He was a loving father to his children and their families. He was a member of Calvary UPC. He is survived by his son, Charles Robertson (Pam) of Jackson, TN; three daughters, Dorinda Davis (Ronnie) of Jackson, TN, Laquita Baskin (Trey) of Jackson, TN and Janae Owen (Dan) of Medina, TN; a brother, George Robertson (Ladina) and thirteen grandchildren, Kevin Robertson (Shannon), Trevor Robertson, (Kelly), Brandon Robertson (Nikki), David Davis (Bronda), Amanda Luther, Hannah Tubbs (Jonathan), Christina Little, Christopher Little, James Baskin, Olivia Brannum, Ryan Jones, Whitney Owen and Austin Owen, twenty-four great grandchildren and his beloved dog Naketa. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Travis Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
