Mona Ratcliff
Campbell
April 5, 1951 – December 16, 2025
Mona Ratcliff Campbell of Jackson, TN and beloved wife of Jim Campbell left us on December 16,2025, leaving a deep hole in our hearts and our community. Born on April 5, 1951, Mona was the loving daughter of Byron and Faye Ratcliff of Parrottsville, Tennessee. As the oldest of four children, Mona learned from an early age the importance of loving and taking care of others. It was from this beginning that she grew into the woman who dedicated her life to God, her family and friends, and her community. In addition to her loving husband, she leaves behind son Jeb (Caroline) Campbell and grandchildren Mary Catherine, Jake, and Patrick Campbell of Jackson, TN and daughter Tiffany (Brent) Strieter of Nolensville, TN. She is survived by brother Craig (Rhonda) Ratcliff of Sevierville, TN, sister Lisa Ratcliff (Mark Cote) of Vernon, CT and brother Keith (Ellen) Ratcliff of Sevierville, TN and several nieces and nephews who dearly loved their Aunt Mona.
Her curiosity, love of learning and ability to connect with others motivated her and she was valedictorian of her Parrottsville High School class and won the Tennessee Junior Miss title in 1969. Graduating from University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1972, Mona was one of twenty-nine UTK coeds tapped by Mortar Board membership, the highest national organization for college women based on leadership, scholarship and service. It was there that she met Jim, the love of her life, for a cherished 52-year marriage filled with gratitude, love, and joy.
Mona brought a passion for life and boundless energy to everything she did. She thrived on, and cherished, her family, her church family, and her many friendships. Her life was founded on a total faith in our Father's infinite love for all his children. Her sincere and genuine love for people flowed naturally from His love.
Her love was an active love that guided simple responses to her cherished friendships and a life of service to her family, her church and her community. For those suffering or in need, Mona provided numerous acts of compassion, always with complete humility. She never wanted recognition or even thanks, insisting that God receive our gratitude for his providence. Her life of service filled her heart with a great joy that overflowed to her husband, her family and everyone who came to know her.
Mona not only reflected God's light and love in her life, but she also made his light and love real in this world.
