Mike Freeman, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on October 4, 2026, at his home in Jackson, with his wife by his side. He was 73.
Born on May 9, 1953, in Jackson, Mike built a life marked by service, faith, devotion to family, and a generous spirit that touched many people. His friends and colleagues knew him as a kind and generous man.
Mike pursued his education with dedication, graduating from Middle Tennessee State University as a commissioned officer through the ROTC, and he later earned his MBA from Golden Gate University. He went on to a successful career in the insurance profession. He continued the family's legacy of helping lessen the sting of misfortune at the Mike Freeman Insurance Agency. He greatly enjoyed serving with the Jackson Old Hickory Rotary Club.
A proud veteran, Mike served his country for 28 years, retiring from the Army Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military service was distinguished by the receipt of three Service Medals, and he also earned the Army Parachutist Badge.
Faith was an important part of Mike’s life. He was a member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, and as Lay Leader for the Jackson District. He gave his time and leadership generously, and his church community was an important part of his life.
At home, Mike found joy in simple pleasures. He loved old Westerns and always seemed to have one playing on the television.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Teresa Freeman; daughters, Mary Beth Eberle (Kevin) and Kelly Freeman (Cody); five grandchildren; and brother, Patrick Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Becky Freeman.
A funeral to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. Mary Beth Eberle officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mike Freeman will be remembered with love, gratitude, and admiration for his faithful service, his dry humor, his generous heart, and the deep love he gave to his family and friends.
