Michael Brantley Youngblood, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in his hometown of Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born on September 13, 1951, the son of the late Ed Youngblood and Betty Y. Harris. Mike lived a full life marked by dedication to his loved ones and an unwavering passion for sports and the great outdoors.
Mike's life journey along with the love of his life, Boni would be a union blessed with 48 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, welcoming two sons, Bill and Brantley Youngblood of Jackson, TN and a daughter, Michelle, and husband Luke Slayman of Lafayette, Alabama. Mike's brother, Patrick Youngblood, found happiness with his husband Michael in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his step-sister, Ginger Lovorn of Mississippi and a step-brother Robin Graves of Jackson, TN The joys of his life were further multiplied with the arrival of his adored grandchildren, Gunnar, Nathan, and Skye Bonifey Youngblood, who could always bring a beaming smile to their grandfather's face.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Judge Walter Baker Harris and his stepmom, Sue Youngblood.
Professionally, Mike was known for his remarkable handiness and an engaging personality that made him a favorite among colleagues and customers alike. Beginning his career at Big K, he transitioned to Wal-Mart before dedicating 25 years of his life to Handy Home and HCI in Jackson. Mike's work ethic and commitment to any task at hand were evident to all who knew him, and his influence extended far beyond the walls of his workplace.
Beyond his professional life, Mike was a true sports enthusiast. His passion for the University of Tennessee football was only rivaled by his love for NASCAR. Mike cherished the moments spent cheering on his favorite teams and drivers, often surrounded by his buddies who shared in his fervor. These gatherings were never just about the game or the race; they were about the camaraderie and the memories created with every cheer and every shared victory. He also cherished his time watching Jeopardy with Boni.
In his younger years, Mike found solace and adventure in fishing, where the calmness of the water and the thrill of the catch provided him with a perfect balance. His love for fishing was just one of the many interests that showcased his appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
Michael Brantley Youngblood will be remembered for his kind soul, his laugh, and his unwavering support of his family and friends.
