Michael Leo Starosta

Michael Leo Starosta departed this life peacefully on February 23, 2023 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 74.
Michael was born September 21, 1948 to the late Leo and Celia Starosta in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Chicago,IL and graduated with a Masters degree from the University of Saint Francis. Michael and his beloved wife Cathy, married for 53 years, were known for traveling and cruising the world together, many times stopping at a favorite casino or amusement park along the way. Although you would never know it, he was a pro at Jeopardy, and loved to surprise everyone with his Christmas and Easter trivia games. He spent 35 years in management at Reynolds Metals Company in McCook, and later retired from Noranda USA as a plant manager. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cathy Starosta; son, David Starosta; daughter, Julie Starosta; grandchildren, Devon Starosta and Jacob Starosta; sister, Cheryl (John) Kocsis; and brother, Carl Starosta.
Services will be held in Chicago,IL at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
