Funeral services for Maxine Davidson Mitchell, 87, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 22, 2010 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Max Cooper and Rev. Lonnie Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.Mrs. Mitchell was born in Milledgeville, TN on June 1, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Arbie Perkins Davidson. She was married to Johnnie Mitchell who preceded her in death in 2002. Maxine was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church, working for the Child Development Center of many years. She enjoyed cooking and doing for others.She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Scott and husband Robert of Arab, AL; a son, David Mitchell and wife Teresa of Longwood, FL; three grandchildren, Amanda Scott, Brian Scott and Jonathan Mitchell and six great grandchildren and two nieces, Joann Cromwell of Savannah, TN and Mary Lyle Doyle of Memphis, TN.She was also preceded in death by a daughter Emily Mitchell.The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
