Matthew Wilhite was born on April 13, 1971, and died October 15, 2022 at his home in Jackson, TN. He is survived by his father Jerry (Peggy) Wilhite of Jackson, one sister Salena (Steve) Shannon of Jackson, and one brother Matthew (Ashley) Turk of Venice, Ca., nieces Katie Waldrup, Tansy and Nora Turk, and nephews Hunter and Ian Waldrup, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Kate (Bourke) Wilhite. He was a graduate of Highland Academy in Portland, TN. He worked in the family business at Wilhites TA, Jerrys Oil Convenience stores and Jerrys Oil corporate office where he was valued for his technical skills. He was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (a form of Muscular Dystrophy) when he was 8 years age. Despite spending most of his life in a wheelchair from the age of 21, he had the most winsome, joyful and positive personality you could ever hope to have in a friend. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors.
