Mary Graple Roland, age 91, died at Maplewood Healthcare on August 28, 2016. She was born July 29, 1925 in Scotts Hill, TN to Charlie Granville and Ermon Minton Alexander, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John M. Roland; and an infant son, John Morris Roland. She graduated from Huntersville High School and spent her adult life in Madison County. For many years, she was employed at Oakley Fashion. She was a member of Poplar Corner Baptist Church. Surviving her are special granddaughters, Charlie Moore (Michael), and Terri Tull (Shannon), as well as brothers-in-law, Thomas Roland (Nancy) and Charles Roland (Ann), and sister-in-law, Annie Andrews. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews from both the Alexander and Roland branches of the family. Pallbearers will be: Michael Moore, John Michael Moore, Shannon Tull, Joe Roland, Scott Roland, Rick Roland, Tommy Roland, and Freeland Roland. Arrington Funeral Directors will conduct graveside services Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Poplar Corner Cemetery with Rev. Carl White officiating.
