Mary Ann Phillips, née Lewis, age 83, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Jackson.

Born on December 27, 1942, in Bells, Tennessee, Mary Ann lived a life defined by compassion, perseverance, faith, and unconditional love for her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Lee Phillips, and together they shared a life centered on love and service to others.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Phillips; her son, Kenneth Eugene Neely; her daughter, Deborah Gay Neely-Smith; and her brother, Michael Lewis.

She is lovingly remembered by her stepdaughter, Lori, and stepson, Lee, whom she embraced as her own. She was immensely proud of her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Bock; her brother, Jerry Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, cherished friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Mary Ann dedicated many years of service to the District Attorney's Office before making the courageous decision to return to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.

For decades, Mary Ann was a faithful and devoted member of North Jackson Church of Christ. Her unwavering faith guided her daily life, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving her church family. She was known for her generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Whether offering words of encouragement, caring for someone in need, or simply spending time with family, she left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her.

Mary Ann's legacy is one of faith, resilience, service, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, her example will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come.
