Mary Ann Baskin, a retired Registered Nurse who dedicated her life to serving the Jackson-Madison County community for over thirty years, passed away at her residence in Jackson, Tennessee on June 26th, 2023, at the age of 80. Mary Ann was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 29th, 1942, to the parents of the late Joseph Lawrence and Mary Srock Karlovic. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in nursing. Throughout her life, she made a difference in countless lives through her unwavering dedication as a healthcare provider. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary Ann was known for her loving and caring personality. She took part in various activities, including volunteering with St. Mary's Catholic Church and Birth Choice and participating in the Red Hat Society and ladies Barber Shop Chorus. Mary Ann loved to travel and read but more than anything else, she adored spending time with family especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Ann's legacy will always be remembered by those who loved and cherished her. She is survived by five children: Mary Beth Warren of Clarksville, TN, James L Baskin III of Jackson, TN, Joseph Michael Baskin of Jackson, TN, Lisa Ann Laurent of Munford, TN and Julie Zanati of Jackson, TN. Mary Ann also leaves behind two sisters, Judy Griggs of Atlanta and Kathy Keith of Nashville, TN; as well as seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L. Baskin, Jr. and her younger brother, Joseph L. Karlovic, Jr. SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 6:30 p.m. The family will also be receiving friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass on Monday, July 3, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023, with Father David Graham officiating.
